Frequently Asked Questions

What is your new patient procedure?

During a new patient exam, Dr. Hobson will review your intake paperwork, discuss pertinent past medical history, radiology reports, and perform chiropractic, orthopedic and neurological tests.  Most new patients are candidates to receive treatment on the first visit.  Certain exam findings or recent trauma may require x-ray or other imaging before an adjustment can be safely performed.  Dr. Hobson can send a patient out for x-ray, get a stat radiology report and treat later in the same day.

We would love to treat every patient that comes to our office.  However, Dr. Hobson may decide you would be better served in another Chiropractic practice or you need a referral to a medical specialist.  Ultimately, we want the best outcome for your condition. We gladly provide medical records to assist your transfer to a different doctor.

How long are appointments?

  • New Patient appointment are approximately 50 minutes.  If you have not already filled out paperwork we asked that you arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time to complete it.

  • Straight forward adjustments are about 15 minutes.

  • Additional therapies needed to aid in your recovery, then an additional 5-10 minutes are scheduled.

  • Evaluation for a new injury of a current patient takes about 30 minutes.  Please let the staff know when scheduling.

  • Second opinion or review of labs/radiology reports from another provider is 30 minutes.

  • Comprehensive lab review and new prescription medication visits are 30 minutes.

  • Follow-up lab review may be done on the phone.

  • Medication management such as dosage change can also be done over the phone.

Do you take walk-in appointments?

No, the nature of our busy practice does not allow for walk-in appointments.  This includes "squeezing in" of another family member into your appointment time.  We often have same or next day appointments for our established patients.

May I bring others to my visits?

Of course!  We welcome your family members in the exam room as long as we stay focused on your treatment.  We cannot use your time to address questions regarding someone else.  Small children do well at faster follow-up visits, but the longer initial visit can be difficult.  Non-patient children under the age of 5 years old must be in a stroller.  No eating or drink in the office

Service dogs are welcome, but family pets are not.  Our business liability insurance does not cover animal bite should your pet injure another patient.

What is your No Show policy?

A missed appointment is a loss to everyone.  We ask for a 24 hour notice of cancellation.  We understand things do come up last minute - like going into labor or a sick child- and will waive the $50 NO SHOW fee.

We try to keep our practice running on time.  If you are more than 5 minutes late, we will reschedule you to a later time or a different day.  If you are late more than 3 times, we will collect the $50 NO SHOW fee if you cannot be rescheduled in the same day.

Do you sell supplements or other products?
